Pen and paper. I tend to only journal when things are bad for me. I wonder if my handwriting is so bad no one can read my writing. Sometimes not even myself.
I’ve got an unpopular opinion here because I love journaling! I’ve got hundreds of notes in my iPhone’s Notes app. HUNDREDS. My most favorite one is titled “Organize Your Thoughts”. I use the talk to text feature and stream of consciousness. Somehow, those thoughts get untangled and much easier to manage.
I'm with you @kera I am obsessed with journaling! For years now I've been filling those decomposition notebooks. Every so often it is easier to type, so I use an old alphasmart word processor. Reaallly feels like my voices is going out into the ether because I so rarely transfer that stuff to my computer. 😂 I've also been known to send emails to myself.
Omg I hate journaling too, I hate reflecting on my own emotions. When I have to I write long hand in one of those bound notebooks I bought in a bookstore 😂 No lie. Though I’m very much drawn to the idea of impermanence, so much paper accumulates in my house, I could write on it and then throw it away. I also have a shredder 🤔
I'm with MacKenzie on this one. I detest journaling. I've given it a genuine effort several times, in and outside of therapy. I'll acknowledge that it helps, but I fucking hate it😆
Back when I was in therapy/PSR,(PsychoSocialRehabilitation-learning to play well in the sandbox,[all the social rules I never learned as a child]), I had to journal, every week. I hated it. Still hate it; but I’ll do it for you,(and I suppose, me.
You can make journaling impermanent. You can write it on paper and burn that paper in a fireplace or fire pit. I find that helps with how much I hate it. :)
My favorite way to journal is either through a journal app like Goodnotes, or blindfold journaling on my computer. For deep feels, usually blindfold journaling is most helpful.

I LOVE the idea of using an old machine and the visual of sending words out into the ether with one.
That’s awesome! You can be an inspiration for the rest of us. 😊
