I've just loved Our Flag Means Death so so much! So much love went into that and radiates from it. I appreciated how it tackled darkness, but always maintained lightness.

I was blown away by Shadow in the Cloud on Netflix most recently. I love a story built on metaphor and woah! It’s a weird and badass and heartbreaking and empowered creature feature.

Dolly Parton and James Patterson’s colab Run Rose Run was a good weekend read. It was filled with Dolly’s voice in all of the good ways, almost like she was reading the pages to me.

I love all of these suggestions. I had no idea about Tik Tok!

Currently, I’m readying The Wren in the Holly Library by K.A. Linde. It grabs a hold of you, engaging main character, some romance, action. 😀

I read A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers just over 12 months ago and found a new favourite author. I read the sequel and have been ploughing my way through their back catalogue. Other favs have been The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin and (I have to say it) Bluey.

The Bible, first and foremost, then The Chosen; first, the series, as I’m hearing impaired, so captions, folks. Then the novelizations.

Also am currently working my way through Lynette Eason’s many series’s-audiobooks. M

Jeez, ask me to pick a favorite blood vessel why don't ya?

I recently marathoned through all of A League of Their Own again, and I still consider it to be a nearly perfect show & story (excepting the BS they pulled on it afterwards).

A Discovery of Witches has been pretty good, though I haven't finished it.

The Mayfair Witches - I was pleasantly surprised at how well the series keeps the feel of the books intact.

Elsbeth was a f-, erm, real delight.

As far as written media, I mostly read (and write) fanfiction. I have the privilege of beta reading for some friends, and I love basically everything of theirs I've been reading. My friend's Bellamione fic (Bella's Pet) stands out because it's so far outside what I would normally choose for myself, but their writing is so compelling that I really love it.

If we're also including newer forms like TikTok series I absolutely love Death & Martha, Hell's Belles, and the Nursery Nurse.

Allow me to contribute to the delinquency of a major. This is part 1 of the Death and Martha playlist (fair warning it'll just keep going to the next video as long as you let it run)

I think for me the best story I've engaged in in the past year was Apple TV's "Silo." It was so fascinating, so beautifully made... I really enjoyed it.

Oh, but there was also Amy Tinterra's "Listen for the Lie," which I absolutely loved, and the audiobook is really fun to listen to, because they actually produce the podcast parts.

And if we don't mean "this year" as in 2024, but "this year" as in, "in the past 12 months," Sophie Cousen's "Just Haven't Met You Yet," is also GREAT.

OH AND BALDUR'S GATE 3, which had a LOT of fantastic storylines, and I can't decide if Shadowheart's story or Astarion's story was my absolute favorite among those.

Shadowheart. It's Shadowheart.
