As you get ready to write, now is the time not just to think about your characters, story beats, and settings, but it’s a time to think about you.
It’s time to figure out your writing process.
Part of that is the plotter/pantser stuff we talked about last time, but that’s not all of it.
Remember your energy audit? Go back to it. When are your best, most productive hours in the day, and is it possible to build at least some of your writing habit into those hours? If they happen during your lunch break at work, that’s an opportunity to get some words in during the day. Are you one of those people whose best hours are in the middle of the night? Maybe you can set up a biphasic sleep plan so you can get some work done at two in the morning, when everyone else is asleep and quiet.
And you know what this all is beginning to sound like?
It’s beginning to sound like ritual.
