I was watching a video with Elizabeth Gilbert the other day, and she said this fascinating thing: You are entitled to the labor of your creative efforts, but not the rewards.

That sounds a little ouch at first, but the valuable thing that it does is separate you and your work from the outcome it may, or may not, get for you.
